CD "RORATE"
At the end of 1998, the
Gregorian Choral, taking advantage of a tape already recorded as demonstration
to be sent to a correspondent in Scotland (for a possible invitation to
participate in a choir festival), released the CD "RORATE",
(orvalhai, in Portuguese), recorded as courtesy of Dirceu Cheib, director of
Bemol Phonographic Producer, of Belo Horizonte.
The record is unpublished,
because it was the first release done in Brazil by a mixed gregorian choral and
sung by layman.
Unhappily, in Brazil, certain
types of music do not receive recording or media supports for a broader
popularization and as the Society doesn't have a distributor , some records’
stores refuse to sell the CD, so the sales are made through alternative forms
and put into places where they are disposed on consignment market, such as:
newsstand, self service restaurants, schools’ bars, esoteric stores and other
places.
Even with all the
distribution’s difficulties, that it is nowadays done just by a unique participant
of the choral, and without expecting the popularization means, the record
already sold more than 4.000 copies, almost exclusively in Belo Horizonte.
The CD’s price is
R$15,00 (fifteen Reais), not including packing expenses and mail. Requests can be made by telephone

You can hear our CD Rorate at the Radio Set, a good radio from Portugal, directed by Nuno Pereira, that plays sacred musics in Gregorian Chant and poliphonie. When you hear male and female voices togheter your are hearing our CD.
Besides the CD
"RORATE", the choral participated, in August 2000, with two music
(Credo III and Ubi Caritas) on the record "Meu Dia em Oração” (My Day in
Prayer), with circulation of 50.000 copies, released by the Archdiocese of Belo
Horizonte and acquired by the parishes to be used as a gift in the pastoral
visits or sold to the interested ones.
The record label Ana Marie realesed, in November 2003,
the distribution of the second choral CD “Puer” (boy, in English), recorded by
Bemol.
The CD has 16 songs, one of them is “Christus Vincit”, in litanic style.
The label Ana Marie is
specialized in relax, reflexion and meditation musics and its records always
presents nature sounds as music backgrounds.
We hope this new work will
have a geater promotion among enthusiasts of the Gregorian chant beauty,
because the enterprise counts with good means of distribution and promotion all
over Brazil and abroad.
